BizClips_Logo_Lockup-Rev_980x360Do you work for a small business or nonprofit? Small businesses and nonprofits can win prizes, national publicity, and a promotional video through BizClips, a new video contest sponsored by SCORE and Brother International, and developed and implemented by MiniMatters.

A small business will win up to $3,500 in prizes in 30-60 seconds

Like many small business owners, you probably have many responsibilities to juggle: customers, employees, products, space, marketing, finances, paperwork and much more. If you could improve your productivity in these or other areas through a business makeover, where would you focus your effort and why? Make a video about it and enter to win. By sharing your story through “BizClips: The Small Business Productivity Makeover Video Contest” you could win a prize of up to $3,500 in business products and services. SCORE and Brother International, one of the premier providers of print and communications products, teamed up to sponsor the contest, which celebrates SCORE’s 50 years of helping hundreds of thousands of small businesses learn how to start a business, grow and achieve their business goals through free business assistance and education.

Contest rules–for small business!

Make a video about your small business; the Contest is easy to enter. Make a 30-60 second video, telling your story, describing your need for a business makeover, and how SCORE could help in addressing your need. You can also tell how SCORE helped your small business in the past. The video can be as simple or as fancy as you’d like, as long as it meets the minimum requirements. MiniMatters collaborated with SCORE on these tips. BizClips Video ContestEnter the Contest by uploading your video at www.bizclips.score.org by midnight, Eastern time, on February 25, 2014. The contest opened on November 25, 2013. The winners will be chosen by vote, and the top 25 vote-getters will become finalists, gain significant and free national media exposure, and win a Brother P-Touch prize. A panel of small business experts will select one grand prize winner from these finalists to receive a business makeover with up to $2,500 of products and services from Brother. The grand prize winner  also will be flown to Washington, D.C. in September 2014 for a special national announcement and awards ceremony at the 2014 SCORE Awards Gala. The grand prize winner will also have a professional business makeover video created to be shown at the Gala and promoted by SCORE. The winner can also use the video for its own promotion.

Vote for your favorite small business

Voting is easy. All videos that meet the minimum requirements will be eligible for online voting from April 1-30, 2014. After you vote in the video contest, ask your friends, family, customers and supporters to vote for your business or nonprofit, too. Ask them to also help you spread the word, so you can make it to the final round. “This is a chance for small businesses to showcase themselves in front of a national audience. For the winning business, we’ll be delighted to make their business better, stronger and more productive through the makeover,” said Ken Yancey, SCORE CEO.
